Venice Herring has been appointed Director of Human Resources at Quantum Health. Quantum Health is the leading care coordination and healthcare consumer navigation company. They assist self-funded employers in obtaining the most out of their healthcare plans by navigating and coordinating benefits for members.

Previously, Venice was the VP, Human Resources of inVentiv Health. Prior to working for inVentiv she held leadership roles in Human Resources for Elmer’s Products, The Longaberger Company and Deloitte.

She holds a Bachelor of Human Resources from Franklin University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations from the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Lillian Lowery has been appointed CEO of Columbus FutureReady. Columbus FutureReady is a new entity constituted from the recommendations of the Columbus Education Commission, and will include Public Policy, Advocacy and Leadership; Early Childhood Education; Academic Excellence; Career Pathways; Innovation and Community Engagement. In order to establish the strategic underpinnings of a successful community-wide partnership and address a number of pressing gaps, the initial focus will be placed on three of these areas: Public Policy, Advocacy and Leadership; Early Childhood Education and Community Engagement.  This newly launched entity will include the integration of the vital capabilities of existing organizations Learn4Life, KidsOhio and Learning Circle. These will provide the framework for an exceedingly robust “backbone organization” for education in Columbus that will be supplemented and uplifted with additional capabilities and resources.

Previously, Dr. Lowery was Maryland State Superintendent of Schools and Secretary-Treasurer. Dr. Lowery’s focus has been on raising achievement for all students, closing the achievement gap, preparing graduates for college and career, and supporting educator effectiveness. She has paid particular attention to strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.

She moved to Maryland from Delaware, where she served as Secretary of Education. Dr. Lowery has worked in various education institutions and programs since 1976. She served for three years as the Superintendent of the Christina School District in New Castle County, DE, served as an Assistant Superintendent in Fairfax County, VA, and as an Area Superintendent in Fort Wayne, IN. She held other administrative positions, and began her career as an English teacher at the middle and high school levels in Virginia.

A graduate in English and Secondary Education at North Carolina Central University, Dr. Lowery received her Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Carolina, and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.

Robin Hicks Nunley has been appointed Executive Director at American Red Cross Palm Beach and Martin Counties. American Red Cross exists to provide compassionate care to those in need. Their network of generous donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world, through five key service areas: Disaster Relief, Supporting American’s Military Families, Lifesaving Blood, Health and Safety Services and International Services.

Previously, Robin was the Chief Philanthropic Officer for the Council on Aging at the Kane Center (Stuart, Florida). Prior to that role, she was the President and CEO of the Historical Society of Martin County/Elliot Museum and the Vice President and Chief Operating Office of the Council on Aging of Martin County. She was also the lead counsel for RHC Fundraising Consultants.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master’s degree in Interpersonal Communication and Marketing Management from Florida State University.

David is a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Southeast Wisconsin and was a past president of the Planned Giving Council of Eastern Wisconsin. He is also a winner of the Premier Campaign Award from Leave-a-Legacy Wisconsin and holds a Masters in Organizational Leadership & Quality.

We encourage you to celebrate National Heart Month and the 12th anniversary of National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 6th, 2015.  Tremendous strides have been made in the last 12 years.  Today, nearly 90% of women have made at least one healthy behavior change and more than 50% of women have increased their exercise.

Scot Swisher has been appointed Director, Retail Store Operations at Goodwill Columbus. Goodwill Columbus is the fifth largest nonprofit organization in central Ohio and among the top 100 employers. Each year, Goodwill Columbus provides 1.2 million hours of training, job placement programs and work programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. Goodwill Columbus is a member of Goodwill Industries International, an association of 181 independent member organizations throughout the United States and Canada.

Previously, Scot was with Banfield Animal Hospital most recently as Field Director. Prior to this role he held retail management roles with Finish Line. He has over 16 years of progressive experience in operations management.

Scot holds several certificates in Loss Prevention Training including The Line Manager Challenge and From Good to Great and holds a bachelors in Communication from The Ohio State University.

Previously, Timothy was a Tax Partner at Clarus Partners and Head, Group Taxation for Mettler Toledo. He also held tax roles with Deloitte and Touche, Arthur Andersen and NCR Corporation.

Timothy holds a CPA, a bachelors of Business Administration from The Ohio State University and an Master of Taxation from the University of Cincinnati.

Prior to this role, he held various sales and leadership positions throughout his 26 year career with Time Warner.

Steve is a former board member of the Childrens’ Hospital Development Board and the Council on Child Abuse and holds a bachelors in Communication from The Ohio State University.
